Aye Chan Myae is a Diversity & Inclusion Lead at the Business Coalition for Gender Equality. Her diverse experience working on gender mainstreaming in community-based natural resource governance and the sustainable development of Myanmar, has not only equipped Aye Chan with excellent skills in training facilitation and engaging with groups and individuals level, but has provided her with a unique insight into gender issues at the grassroots level. Armed with a Bachelor’s of Science in Forestry from the University of Forestry, Yezin and a Masters of Science in Gender and Development Studies from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand, Aye Chan has become an expert in her field. She partnered with AIT to conduct research focused on the natural resource sector, social sustainability, and social development within Myanmar. With a background in policy reform, evidence-based research, and supporting poverty reduction through gender mainstreaming, in her current role at BCGE, Aye Chan focuses on promoting workplace gender equality, diversity and inclusion (WGEDI) in the corporate sector by providing WGEDI provisions to members and different stakeholders through WGEDI assessments, technical advisory, and tailor-made and customised training.
