BCGE is supported by Investing in Women\, an\ninitiative of the Australian Government. Kyawt has more than 16 years of experience in the commercial\nand development sectors in various roles\, from Assistant Manager to Country Director in sales and\nmarketing\, real estate\, project management\, marketing and communications\, garment sector\ndevelopment\, donor-funded projects and corporate management in local\, international companies and\nagencies including PSI\, PyoePin and MGMA. Before she joined BCGE\, she was the Corporate Director of\nCardno Myanmar\, an international consulting firm where she expanded the organisation from two team\nmembers to seven hundred with twelve projects of the World Bank and ADB. She is passionate about\nwomen’s active participation in leadership position and decision making and gender equality activities in\nMyanmar\, contributing to the area throughout her career. She is one of the advisory board members of\nWomen’s Voice and Leadership Myanmar. She enjoys cooking in her spare time. Register to attend below! \n  \nAbout the Speakers \n  \n  \n \nVicky Bowman \nVicky Bowman has been the Director of Myanmar Centre for Responsible Business (MCRB) since July 2013. Prior to that\, she led global mining company Rio Tinto’s policy approach to transparency\, human rights and resource nationalism/resource curse issues from 2011. She was Director of Global & Economic Issues and G8 sous-Sherpa for the United Kingdom from 2008-2011 and Head of the Southern Africa Department in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the UK Government from 2006-2007. \n  \nVicky served as ambassador of the UK to Myanmar from 2002-2006 and as second secretary in the Embassy from 1990-1993. She has also worked in Brussels as Member of Cabinet of European Commissioner Chris Patten (1999-2002) and as press spokeswoman for the UK representation to the EU (1996-1999). \n  \nVicky has an MA in Natural Sciences (Pathology) from University of Cambridge\, is an Honorary Fellow of Pembroke College and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of University of Bradford (Division of Peace Studies and International Development). She speaks Burmese and is married to Myanmar artist Htein Lin. \n  \n  \n \nKo Hla Myat Tun \nHla Myat Tun is one of several LGBT activists that openly challenged prejudices and discriminatory practices in Myanmar\, demanding equality and acceptance of LGBTQ persons across Myanmar society. He is acting as a Deputy Director at Colors Rainbow and working together with the country’s Ministries and parliamentarians to recognize gender identities and legal reform to protect the human rights of LGBTQ people. \n  \nHe is also serving as a Co-Director at “&PROUD” which he co-founded in 2014 with the aim to create more space for the LGBTQ community through constructive conversations and engagement among the broader public. \n  \nBefore he started his LGBTQ activism\, he worked for UNFPA in Myanmar and International Center for Transitional Justice in Thailand. He is a multi-cultured professional with great knowledge on working with different ethnic minorities and vulnerable populations in different settings. \n  \nHe holds a Master of Public Affairs from the University of the Philippines Los Baños and a Bachelor of Computer Science from University of Computer Studies\, Yangon. \n  \n\n    Notice: JavaScript is required for this content.

Register to attend below! \n  \nAbout the Speakers \n  \n  \n \nHnin Wut Yee \nHnin Wut Yee joined Myanmar Centre for Responsible Business (MCRB) as Programme and Outreach Manager in 2013\, becoming Research and Outreach Manager in 2015 and Deputy Director (policy and research) in 2019. Prior to that\, she worked as Myanmar Programme Coordinator for the Institute for Human Rights and Business (IHRB)\, based at the British Council in Yangon. She has been involved in a base line study conducted by the Human Rights Resource Center (HRRC) on “Business and Human Rights.” Hnin has also worked on research projects such as base line study on violence\, exploitation and migration of women and children\, community participation in water management\, socially engaged Buddhism\, gender and disability rights. \n  \nHnin was a part-time research fellow of the “MK 31 Nu-Thanlwin-Salween” study project led by the Centre for Social Development Studies (CSDS)\, Faculty of Political Science\, Chulalongkorn University\, Thailand. The project supports professional development of water governance and regional development practitioners in the Nu-Thanlwin-Salween Basin and was undertaken with support from the CGIAR Water-Land-Ecosystems Project and Australian Aid. Hnin has a master’s degree in Public Policy from Lee Kuan Yew (LKY) School of Public Policy\, National University of Singapore\, MPP and a Master’s in Human Rights and Democratization (MHRD) from University of Sydney. \n  \n  \n \nMyint Naing Kyaw \nMyint Naing Kyaw joined Myanmar Centre for Responsible Business (MCRB) as Programme Associate (Discrimination\, Disability\, Gender and Labour) in January 2019. He is also a part-time EC fellow at the Disabled People’s Development Organization. Prior to joining MCRB\, Myint Naing Kyaw worked as a Project Officer at the Association for Aid and Relief Japan (AAR Japan). She also co-founded the Kachin Peace Network (KPN) and Kachin Women Peace Network (KWPN) to raise awareness of the human cost of conflict and to advocate for peace and reconciliation. \n  \nShe is chairing the Alliance for Gender Inclusion for Peace Process (AGIPP) for promoting women’s meaningful participation in Myanmar’s peace process. For her leadership in advocating for the full and equal rights of women\, ethnic and religious minorities in Myanmar\, May Sabe Phyu was honored with an International Women of Courage Award by the State Secretary of the United States of America in 2015 and Global Trailblazer Award in 2017 by Georgetown University’s Institute for Women\, Peace & Security. She was listed as one of the inspiring women leaders in changing Myanmar’s society by many local and international news media. \n  \nShe has been also recognized as distinguished alumni by the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) Alumni Association (AITAA)\, Thailand in September 2015\, where she received her first Master degreed in Gender and Development Studies. In May 2018\, she received the Josephine S. Vernon Award as an outstanding Mason Fellow who embodies the sprit and mission of the Edward S.
