Kyawt designed and developed the first workplace gender equality index and assessment in the country\, ‘Know Your WGE’\, which guides organisations in their gender reporting process and is also an advisory panel member in the regional workplace gender equality assessment of GEARS. Kyawt consults with businesses and organisations on strategic solutions for fostering equitable and inclusive workplaces. This important work focuses on nurturing inclusive leadership\, creating a workplace for all\, embracing respectful workplaces\, combatting unconscious bias\, fostering inclusive recruitment\, leading inclusive communications\, and overcoming social norms and stereotypes which improve employee engagement and increasing productivity within organisation. She has become a leading voice for the business sector agenda on DEI in Myanmar recognised by the Asia D&I Champion Award 2022 from Women Icons Network. She is the president of the ASEAN Human Development organisation\, Myanmar Chapter\, founder of Up The Starts\, and sits on the Advisory Board of Women’s Voice Leadership Myanmar and Myanmar Sustainable Business Network. \nMya Hpone Thant is a Senior HR Lead at the Business Coalition for Gender Equality\, bringing over a decade of progressive experience in human resources. With a strong background in client relations\, performance management\, and employee relations\, she has demonstrated expertise in supporting HR management and development. Prior to her role at BCGE\, Mya Hpone held positions at different organizations\, including the United Nations and various International NGOs. She has successfully led two sexual harassment prevention projects as the HR Advisor\, showcasing her project management capabilities. Mya Hpone is particularly skilled in gender-related activities and organizational development\, contributing to her proficiency in developing policies\, especially those focused on preventing workplace harassment and bullying. Her ability to foster positive relationships with diverse stakeholders further enhances her professional profile. Mya Hpone holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in English from Yangon University. She furthered her academic achievements by obtaining a Global Master of Business Administration from the Swiss Business School\, Switzerland. She also holds a Diploma in Human Resources Development from the Institute of Commercial Management (ICM). As a dedicated HR professional\, she is willing to contribute her strength\, experience\, and knowledge to improve staff’s working lives in a healthy and inclusive workplace environment and apply her considerable expertise to the continuous improvement of organizational operations and business success.

SUMMARY:Recognising Dedications: BCGE Membership Appreciation Event 2024
DESCRIPTION:We are thrilled to share the incredible moments we experienced at our 𝐁𝐂𝐆𝐄’𝐬 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭\, “𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬” last Friday. It was a day filled with inspiration\, commitment\, and celebration of our collective journey towards Workplace Gender Equality\, Diversity\, Equity\, and Inclusion within the private sector in Myanmar. \nOur event kicked off with a symbolic gesture where each participant shared their inspiration or commitment by placing a paper leaf on the Inclusion Tree\, signifying our mutual dedication to fostering inclusivity in our workplace community. \nWe were honored to have 𝐃𝐚𝐰 𝐖𝐢𝐧 𝐖𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐢𝐧𝐭\, our chairperson\, and 𝐃𝐚𝐰 𝐊𝐲𝐚𝐰𝐭 𝐊𝐚𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐢 𝐖𝐢𝐧\, our Country Director\, grace the stage with their insightful remarks and reflections on BCGE’s inspiring journey and achievements in advancing Workplace Gender Equality. \nThe day was marked by several momentous ceremonies\, including the 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲\, where we welcomed 𝟏𝟓 new members into our DEI community and recognised organisations for their commitment to workplace equality. Congratulations to all the newly joined members and Membership Seals recipients for the year 2023-2024! \nAnother highlight of the event was the 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲 as we acknowledged 𝟏𝟏 member organisations have completed and received gender equality reports through regional level WGE assessment\, GEARS and national level WGE assessment\, Know Your WGE\, during the year 2023-2024. It was a proud moment to acknowledge these achievements and the efforts of our member organisations in advancing DEI! \nThis year\, preceding our Membership Appreciation Event\, we introduced an impactful initiative titled “𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬” with the goal of supporting the DEI needs of businesses\, especially MSMEs\, entrepreneurs\, amongst others\, from the committing businesses while also encouraging DEI programs under the CSR of corporates. At our event\, a special recognition went out to our 𝟔 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 with an appreciation ceremony for their demonstration of exceptional commitment to DEI initiatives through our “𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬” initiative for 2024. \nWe extend our heartfelt appreciation to all who attended and celebrated the success of BCGE\, our members\, partners\, supporters and the entire community at the event. We are excited about the momentum generated and look forward to continuing the conversation and collaboration toward a more equitable and inclusive future. \nStay tuned for more updates and initiatives from BCGE and our member organisations as we work together to drive positive change and create a more diverse and inclusive workplace for all.
