Signing MoU Between BCGE and Akhaya Women Myanmar

Business Coalition for Gender Equality and Akhaya Women Myanmar agreed to build cooperation by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the “mutual desire to collaborate in the field of gender equality at the workplace, violence against women and gender-based violence in overlapping areas/programs/initiatives.”

 

This MoU was signed by Country Director of BCGE Daw Kyawt Kay Thi Win and Founder/Director of Akhaya Women Daw Htar Htar on May 27th, 2020. 

BCGE is a non-profit association that encourages businesses to initiate gender equality practices in the workplace. Akhaya Women is a local organization that is using a self-developed model of empowering women through the use of transformative gender through sexuality dialogue. 

The two organizations expressed their intention and interest to collaborate within the scopes of their mandates and sphere of competences to establish a partnership aimed at gender equality at the workplace, violence against women and gender-based violence initiatives in the commercial sector.

BCGE has also signed MoU’s with different partners including EuroCham Myanmar, AustCham Myanmar, CCI France Myanmar, MCRB, Colors Rainbow and GEN Myanmar for collaboration on workplace gender equality activities within the commercial sector and the country.
