Did you know? Lack of support for breastfeeding is linked to lower economic productivity and incomes. Without proper breastfeeding, children under the age of 2 experience stunting, which negatively impacts their cognitive development and educational attainment. As a result, they face economic consequences and earn less than their peers. Individuals can lose more than 10 percent of their lifetime earnings – and countries can lose up to 2- 3 percent of their gross domestic product (GDP) due to lack of breastfeeding support.
