We are thrilled to share the incredible moments we experienced at our 𝐁𝐂𝐆𝐄’𝐬 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭, “𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬” last Friday. It was a day filled with inspiration, commitment, and celebration of our collective journey towards Workplace Gender Equality, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion within the private sector in Myanmar.
Our event kicked off with a symbolic gesture where each participant shared their inspiration or commitment by placing a paper leaf on the Inclusion Tree, signifying our mutual dedication to fostering inclusivity in our workplace community.
We were honored to have 𝐃𝐚𝐰 𝐖𝐢𝐧 𝐖𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐢𝐧𝐭, our chairperson, and 𝐃𝐚𝐰 𝐊𝐲𝐚𝐰𝐭 𝐊𝐚𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐢 𝐖𝐢𝐧, our Country Director, grace the stage with their insightful remarks and reflections on BCGE’s inspiring journey and achievements in advancing Workplace Gender Equality.
The day was marked by several momentous ceremonies, including the 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲, where we welcomed 𝟏𝟓 new members into our DEI community and recognised organisations for their commitment to workplace equality. Congratulations to all the newly joined members and Membership Seals recipients for the year 2023-2024!
Another highlight of the event was the 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲 as we acknowledged 𝟏𝟏 member organisations have completed and received gender equality reports through regional level WGE assessment, GEARS and national level WGE assessment, Know Your WGE, during the year 2023-2024. It was a proud moment to acknowledge these achievements and the efforts of our member organisations in advancing DEI!
This year, preceding our Membership Appreciation Event, we introduced an impactful initiative titled “𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬” with the goal of supporting the DEI needs of businesses, especially MSMEs, entrepreneurs, amongst others, from the committing businesses while also encouraging DEI programs under the CSR of corporates. At our event, a special recognition went out to our 𝟔 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 with an appreciation ceremony for their demonstration of exceptional commitment to DEI initiatives through our “𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬” initiative for 2024.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all who attended and celebrated the success of BCGE, our members, partners, supporters and the entire community at the event. We are excited about the momentum generated and look forward to continuing the conversation and collaboration toward a more equitable and inclusive future.
Stay tuned for more updates and initiatives from BCGE and our member organisations as we work together to drive positive change and create a more diverse and inclusive workplace for all. Here’s to more milestones, achievements, and transformative changes in the years to come
