In line with the campaign celebrations, our Leader Member, KBZMS General Insurance Company Limited, hosted a two-day activity aimed at promoting a respectful and inclusive workplace culture. On Day 1, the “Nurturing Respectful Workplaces” Workshop delivered by the Country Director of BCGE, DEI Thought Leader and Strategist Daw Kyawt Kay Thi Win, gathered the Heads of Departments, who are the top management team of KBZMS Insurance, for an impactful in-person session that explored the critical elements of respect in the workplace. The discussion was centered on how respect is defined, both as a concept and in practice within organisations. The conversation is rich by discussing key topics, including the importance of addressing harassment, bullying, discrimination, sexual harassment, and micro-inequalities and how these issues manifest within work environments. Participants also explored practical tips for both organisations and employees to contribute to creating a respectful workplace, with the importance of leadership commitment underscored and many more. At the end of the workshop, led by the CEO, Dr. Sai Lu Mon Aung, each department head made a leadership commitment to actively combat harassment, bullying, and discrimination in the workplace.

On Day 2, the online “Embracing A Respectful Workplace” Webinar conducted by the Head of Department, DEI, Daw Catherine Hone Paing, Senior Lead, DEI, Daw Aye Chan Myae, and Senior Lead, People & Purpose, Daw Mya Hpone Thant, which was attended by employees across all levels. During the webinar, the leadership commitments made on Day 1 were shared, reinforcing the organisation’s collective pledge to uphold a culture of respect. The session, led by BCGE, focused on the broader significance of workplace respect and its relevance to both personal and organisational success. Both the in-person talk and the online webinar were pivotal in fostering an open dialogue about respect, harassment, and discrimination within KBZMS General Insurance. With the active participation of all employees, KBZMS General Insurance Company Limited is well on its way to nurturing an environment where respect, inclusivity, and safety are at the core of every interaction.
