Exploring Root Factors and Key Areas

A ๐ƒ&๐ˆ ๐‚๐ฅ๐ฎ๐› ๐ž๐ฆ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฐ๐ž๐ซ๐ž๐ ๐›๐ฒ ๐๐‚๐†๐„ was resumed on 17th October, starting with โ€œ๐ƒ๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ฅ๐จ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐€๐ง๐ญ๐ข-๐‡๐š๐ซ๐š๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ, ๐€๐ง๐ญ๐ข-๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ข๐ง๐ , ๐š๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐ง-๐ƒ๐ข๐ฌ๐œ๐ซ๐ข๐ฆ๐ข๐ง๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ข๐œ๐ฒ.โ€ย The Clubbers, the HR, DEI, and Sustainability Professionals from BCGE member firms believe that harassment, bullying, and discriminatory behaviors in the workplace can have serious effects on morale, productivity, workplace safety, and overall performance so they marked the topic to be discussed within Clubbers for the โ€œHow Toโ€ actions on this initiative, since last year.

In the Club discussion, they discussed the subtopics of “๐‘๐จ๐จ๐ญ ๐…๐š๐œ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ฌ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐ฌ๐ข๐๐ž๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง” and “๐Š๐ž๐ฒ ๐€๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ฌ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐œ๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐ฌโ€ with interactive group discussions led by the assigned Team Leaders of the Clubbers themselves. The first subtopic, “Root Factors and Consideration,” was led and facilitated by Maย Yadana Myint Oo, Maย Thida Lwin, and Maย Han Thi Htet, and the second subtopic by Maย Yamin Nyunt, Koย Thiha, and Ma Thida Linn supported by the respective coordinators from BCGE.

This collaborative approach ensured the active engagement of all D&I Clubbers, generating valuable insights and talking points related to anti-harassment, anti-bullying, and non-discrimination policy. The discussions were vibrant and dynamic exchanges of ideas and perspectives from different cultures and industries, which is a remarkable Club activity.

The Key takeaways from this session are:

๐Ÿ”ธโ€‹โ€œConversely, organisations express concerns that neglecting these key areas in the policy can lead to negative consequences, including reputation damage, heightened conflicts, engagement issues, and more.โ€

To sum up, the D&I Club workshop focusing on โ€œDeveloping Anti-Harassment, Anti-Bullying, and Non-Discrimination Policyโ€ with a detailed discussion on “Root Factors and Consideration” and “Key Areas and Concernsโ€ was a success, and looking ahead, the D&I Club has exciting plans for the coming months.

In January 2024, D&I Clubbers will meet again and dive into the subtopic “The Complaint Mechanism,” which is a crucial part of developing the Anti-Harassment, Anti-Bullying, and Non-Discrimination Policy.
